The Miser's Third Season at the Festival
Dubrovnik, July 19th – Dubrovnik Summer Festival's acknowledged play The Miser, directed by Ivica Kunčević is part of this year’s Festival’s drama repertoire and will be performed on the Bošković Square on Wednesday July 21, 2010 at 9:30 pm.

The Miser had its premiere at the 59th Dubrovnik Summer Festival when it was honored as the Best Play in the Marin Držić’s Birthday Year.
The Miser is a comedy in the characteristic style of Dubrovnik tradition, composed of five acts. Original text of the play is unfortunately lacking its ending. Theme of the play is excessive and pathological miserliness, as the title suggests. Excellent team of actors with Goran Grgić in the leading role, Srđana Šimunović, Doris Šarić Kukuljica, Goran Bogdan, Zijad Gračić, Kruno Šarić, Maro Martinović, Zvonimir Zoričić, Vlasta Knezović, Zoran Vujović and others contributed to the huge interest of the audience. Danica Dedijer is the costume designer, Frano Đurović is the music author and the lighting designer is Zoran Mihanović. Miše Martinović – legendary name of Croatian acting scene, is the language instructor of the play. This truly unique and precious drama piece, with its ideas surpasses spaciously small Dubrovnik area. Play mirrors the contemporary society where money is the principal driver. The Miser anticipates the modern businessman who has been dehumanized.
The play will be performed four nights from July 21-24 at the Bošković Square.
