The Orchestra with the Great Pianists
Dubrovnik, July 19th – As a part of the 61st Dubrovnik Summer Festival’s music repertoire, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and renowned pianists Alexander Ghindin, Martina Filjak and Gottlieb Wallisch will perform in the Rector's Palace Atrium, on Wednesday, July 21 at 9:30 pm.

Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, whose members are academic musicians, was founded 1925, and since then continuously performs around the world and Croatia. Orchestra mainly nurtures baroque and romanticism compositions.
This season, DSO will perform accompanied by the three prominent pianists. Martina Filjak, young Croatian pianist, has already managed to impress the world audience with her talent, and also to receive numerous international awards, among which is the Beethoven Award for the best performance of Beethoven’s compositions, the award for the best interpretation of contemporary compositions and was awarded by the young pianist jury.
Russian pianist Alexander Ghindin, devoted guest of Dubrovnik Summer Festival, started his career as the youngest prize winner at the 10th International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Since then Ghindin has been performing on the stages of prestigious concert halls. He has recorded 16 CD’s with Beethoven, Brahms, Ravel, Scriabin and Rachmaninoff compositions.
Honored Austrian pianist Gottlieb Wallisch became famous at the young age, and on his tours worldwide has developed wide repertoire from Wienne classical to contemporary music. Few months ago, Wallisch promoted his first CD of Mozart compositions.
This season's concert of the Orchestra and the pianists will present W.A.Mozart, R.Schumman and F.Chopin compositions.
