An impressive blend of baroque music and Beatles songs
The renowned ensemble of the Munich Soloist Philharmonic together with cellist Monika Leskovar, a favorite of the Festival audience, brought an interesting and attractive repertoire to the 62nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival in the Rector's Palace Atrium, on the 27th of July at 9:30 PM.

The variety and flexibility of the ensemble is the reason why the Munich Soloist Philharmonic is such an appealing group. Apart from that, there is a wide variety of the repertoire that encompasses almost all musical periods, from baroque to modern music. All that is only possible because the ensemble is composed of the best members of the Munich Philharmonic, an orchestra of exceptional tradition and quality. The first cellist of the Munich Philharmonic Monika Leskovar was known as a “wunderkind”, and today she is a mature and complete artist with international successes and a booming career, and also a frequent and wanted guest of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
She performed amongst the greatest world orchestras and leading conductors and she gives her music voice through the cello of Italian master Vincenzo Postiglione from 1884.
Apart from works of Händel, Avison, Haydn and Detoni, these brilliant musicians will perform the most popular Breiner composing project called Beatles go baroque. Peter Brainer, as a composer, has always been prone to a wide spectrum and broad scope of musical art, crossing the usual borders of classical musicl. The apparent fascination with the baroque period made him to combine the baroque and popular music. Four concerto grossos, each havign four parts, made on several successes from the hit albums of the british musical group. Breiner tried to work some hits together in the style of Händel, Vivaldi and Bach.
