Pineiro Nagy i Mikro Duo.jpgThe Festival audience will have opportunity to enjoy the evening of three brilliant Pyrenees musicians: great teacher Nagy and two his followers who have already been performing under the title MikroDuo.

MikroDuo was established in 2004 by young Portuguese guitarists Pedro luis and Miguel Vieira da Silva, both students of the High Music School in Lisabon, both guitar students in Piñeiro Nagy’s class. The name of the duo came from famous composition by Leo Brouwer Mikropiezas, the first part they did together in their early school years. Spanish guitarist Piñeiro Nagy is especially interested in music of the 20th century so he remade many compositions from that period. He performed on concert and famous festivals around Europe, USA, and in Far East, and he also recorded for numerous radio and television stations. He is a member of Executive Committee of the European Festival Association. Since 1968 he has been working as pedagogue in Portugal, and he has been teaching in High Music School in Lisabon sice 1990 so he raised generations of yonder young guitarists. Among them are Pedro Luís and Miguel Vieira da Silva, on whose repertoire are classical compositions , but also works from South American authors of the 20th century, and new compositions by Pedro Figueired, Manuel Durão, Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, Joaquín Turina i Radamés Gnattali.
