Within the presentation of the City of Dubrovnik in Budapest, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival will present itself by a multimedia project by Damil Kalogjera entitled
The Sounds and Sights on 19 March 2008 at the Institute of Middle-European Culture.
The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia, the Institute of the Middle-European Culture and the City of Dubrovnik realised a cultural collaboration project of Dubrovnik and Budapest, within which the Dubrovnik Summer Festival will be presented by Damil Kalogjera's a multimedia presentation The Sound and Sights. The project comprises an exhibition of photograhs divided into two groups: the first includes the portraits of the artists who took part in the Dubrovnik Summer Festival during the three preceeding years; the second one entitled «the comparable situations» includes the sets of two photographs of almost the same setting taken in diferent times – during and outside the Festival. Kalogjera claims that the inspiration for this project came while he was walking along the Gradac Park. «I was looking for the place where a photograph of A Midsummer Night's Dream staged by Marko Fotez had been taken in 1954. Numerous questions about the time and space arose by themselves.»
The exhibition opening at the Budapest Institute of Middle-European Culture is scheduled for 7.00 pm. The exhibition will be opened on work days from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm until 11 April. This will be the opportunity to present th program of the 59th season to the media and all visitors which will definitely result in a growing number of Hungarian visitors to Dubrovnik and the Festival.
