Successfully held Croatian first premiere of the “Scenes with an apple”
Croatian contemporary drama “Scenes with an apple”, by the writer and dramaturge Ivana Sajko, took place last on August 5, at the Sponza Palace. “Scenes with an apple” is the second drama premiere of the 62nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival and also Croatian first premiere of this extraordinary text.
In the chamber ambient of the Sponza Palace, the well-played ensemble composed of brothers Alen and Nenad Sinkauz who designed music, costume designer Zijena Glamočanin, animations designer Simon Bogojević Narath, dramaturge Sandro Siljan and lead by the director Ivana Sajko who is both the author and the performer. Together they have successfully staged the idea behind the question of the “garden of Eden in the society of disaster”. Inspired by the biblical motif of the banishment from heaven and based on this strong motif of the primordial sin and human disobedience, “Scenes with an apple” had its world premiere in Bern in 2009 making the second part of the trilogy started with the play “Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose”.
Amongst the many eminent attendees at the premiere were the Minister for Culture of the Republic of Croatia Jasen Mesić and the State Secretary Nina Obuljen.
“Scenes with an apple” will be on the repertoire on August 8th at 11:00 pm at the Sponza Palace.
