Croatian Comedy "72 Days"
The winner of the Audience Award Film of the Pula Film Festival, Croatian comedy 72 Days by Danilo Šerbedžija was shown on Tuesday, July 27, at 9:30 pm in the open air cinema Jadran. The film is subtitled in English.

Comedy is about the family in Lika, which after grandma dies, decides to find substitute for her, so they can still continue receiving the American pension from her deceased husband.
Danilo Šerbedžija is the author of few documentaries, awarded short films and music videos. As a director he has also done few sitcoms. 72 Days is his first feature film. For the world premiere of the movie, the director said:
“Inspirited by the anecdote that I witnessed in barrack in Maribor in 1989, when the Montenegrin soldier said that all his family does is taking care that grandma stays alive because she receives American pension, I wrote a script that became 72 days film. Although originally conceived as a comedy, when we started shooting, the script was getting darker and more complex with the new events and relationships among characters. This is partially caused by the excellent team of actors I was happy to assemble for this film. However, I believe there are still many humorous parts that will make the audience laugh, and not too many of those dark parts that will remind us on what’s happening just a mile from our carefree homes.
