The recipient of the Rectors award of 1999., this young painter has exhbitied on numerous independent and group exhibitions throughout Croatia but also in the US and Prague. Except with her traditional artwork, the painter also attracts the eye of the public by refreshing furniture by painting it.
For this specially designed cycle made for the Summer Festival, Šimunović, has with Liszt, shared the romantic trance which elevates the unadulterated nature and the feelings themselves. The paintings share their names with Liszt’s compositions, and only a glance is enough at Dreams of love, Mephisto’s Waltz or the Villa d’Este’s fountains are enough to induce the freedom of imagination, longing, the feeling of freedom and to mirror the romantic vision of love.
The Dubrovnik Summer Festival is, with this exhibition, joining the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of the great Hungarian composer and pianist Franz Liszt.
