Final Performance of “Timon of Athens“ Takes Place Tonight

Date created: 21.07.2014.

“Timon of Athens” premiered at last year’s Split Summer Festival receiving praise from both the critics and the audience. It is one of Shakespeare’s most seldom performed and least-liked plays. Although it is considered coarse, bitter and cynical, its topics of money, greed and arrogance are gradually awakening the interest of today’s audiences. This adaptation of Shakespeare’s  seldom performed work is directed and dramaturgically processed by Georgij Paro, scenography created by Dinka Jeričević, costume design by Dijana Kosec Bourek, music by Gordan Tudor, light design by Miljenko Bengez and sound design by Tomislav Luetić.  Vili Matula stars as Timon, alongside Vladimir Posavec Tušek, Filip Radoš, Mijo Jurišić, Goran Marković, Trpimir Jurkić, Sreten Mokrović, Arijana Čulina, Žarko Radić, Nenad Srdelić, Josip Zovko and many others in supporting roles.
