Ivica Boban wins the 2016 Best Directing Award for the play Othello

The Croatian Theatre awards for best artistic achievements in 2016 have been awarded last night, on 24 November, at the Croatian National Theatre of Zagreb.

The prestigious Croatian Theatre's Best Directing Award in the Drama Category has been given to Ivica Boban for William Shakespeare's play Othello shown at the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

This production of William Shakespeare's Othello was premiered by the Festival Drama Ensemble at the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, on 20 August 2016, at Fort Lovrjenac, marking the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare. The audience and critics warmly received the production, which also won the Croatian Radio and Television's Orlando Award for Best Play.
