One of the world's greatest classical musicians of today, pianist Ivo Pogorelić, preformed last night, 9 August, in front of the large audience in the Rector's Palace Atrium.
Maestro performed Haydn's Sonata in D Major, Rondo a Capriccio by Ludwig van Beethoven, Debussy's Pour le piano suite and Rachmaninoff's Moments musicaux. Maestro awarded his enthusiastic audience at the end of the concert with two Spanish dances by Enrique Granados as encores.
Concerts of this great artist are always at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival accompanied by large interest of audience. Due to these music lovers and to devoted Maestro’s fans, Rector’s Palace usually gets very crowded, with people on every stair, on the balcony and in the atrium. Maestro’s concerts are regularly considered to be an artistic peak or highlight of the Festival season.
