Mara and Kata again at St Mary’s from tomorrow

The hit play Mara and Kata, a creative project by Saša Božić created in collaboration with actresses Nataša Dangubić and Doris Šarić-Kukuljica, is a part of the Festival programme once again this summer. The most wanted gossipmongers in town will comment on the recent events in Dubrovnik in the courtyard of St Mary’s convent tomorrow, 5 August and then 6 August at 9:30 p.m. and on Monday, 7 August at 8:30 p.m. and at 10:30 p.m. Tickets for all performances are sold out.

Aylen Pritchin and Maxim Emelyanychev tomorrow in the Rector’s Palace Atrium

Renowned Russian musicians, violinist Aylen Pritchin and pianist Maxim Emelyanychev, will perform tomorrow, 4 August in the Rector’s Palace atrium at 9:30 p.m., compositions by Franz Schubert, Sergei Prokofiev, Antonín Dvořák and Edvard Grieg.

Nicolas Altstaedt and the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra with maestro Zajcev equals a great evening of music

An indispensable part of the festival's music programme, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra had their first performance as part of the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, last night, 2 August under the baton of maestro Pavle Zajcev, and alongside the German French cellist Nicolas Altstaedt. The excellent musicians were greeted with roaring applause in the crowd-filled Rector’s Palace atrium.

Dubrovnik Rhapsody by Romana Milutin Fabris opened in a crowded Sponza

The exhibition of works by the Dubrovnik artist Romana Milutin Fabris, entitled Dubrovnik Rhapsody was opened last night, 1 August in the crowd-filled Sponza Palace atrium as part of the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival. The Montenegrin diplomat and professor Antun Sbutega, art critic and exhibition text author Andrija Seifried and the Festival’s Artistic Director Dora Ruždjak Podolski spoke at the opening.

Nicolas Altstaedt and Pavle Zajcev with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra in the Rector’s Palace

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will perform under the baton of the Croatian maestro Pavle Zajcev with the German-French cellist Nicolas Altstaedt tomorrow, 2 August in the Rector’s Palace atrium starting at 9 p.m., and their programme will include works by Sergei Prokofiev, Joseph Haydn and Ludwig van Beethoven.

Zvjezdan Ružić delights the crowd under Revelin with the Pianotron

Last night, 30 July, the Festival audience enjoyed an unforgettable concert by the Croatian pianist, composer and arranger Zvjezdan Ružić on the Square under Revelin fort, who presented some original music, as well as his own covers of world hits on the pianotron, an instrument consisting of a piano, mellotron and pedals. Queen's Radio Ga Ga was met with applause from the first iconic beats, and during the performance of ABBA's Dancing Queen, the audience sang along to the well-known lyrics. The Dubrovnik Summer Festival organized this special concert as a gift to the citizens and visitors of the city.

One of the most sought-after and versatile musicians today, cellist Nicolas Altstaedt will perform tonight, 31 July at 9:30 p.m. in the Rector’s Palace atrium, and on the repertoire are compositions by Henri Dutilleux, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jörg Widmann and Zoltán Kodály.

Acclaimed pianist Zvjezdan Ružić performs tomorrow on Square under Revelin Fort

Croatian pianist, composer, and arranger Zvjezdan Ružić will showcase tomorrow, 30 July at 8:30 p.m. the unique Pianotron project in which he plays three instruments at once on the Square under the Revelin Fort as part of the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival. The programme is free.
