The premiere screening of a short film Magda Mozarka directed by Bojana Momirović, created in Croatian-French production houses Bakom Productions (HR) and DMP Productions (USA), will be held on Thursday, 11 August at 9:30 PM in the Jadran Open-Air Cinema. The film is subtitled in English and the entrance to the screening is free.
In 1930 on the Island of Šipan, Magda awaits her fiancé Roman who's returning from the US. Every day she goes to the harbor and sings to the sea. Shooting of the film, inspired by true story, was completed in late summer of 2015 on the island of Šipan and it was edited in France earlier this year. Sara Žuvela and Martina Biljan are in leading roles. Film is directed by Bojana Momirović and produced by Dragan Momirović, Bojana Momirović, Maro Kocković and Céline Major.
It was supported by the City of Dubrovnik, the Film Fund Guadalupe which was responsible for post-production and Dubrovnik Summer Festival which ceded costumes for the shooting.
Magda Mozarka has been included in the Short Film Corner catalogue of Cannes Festival and in the Croatian Audio-Visual Centre’s publication.
