The Great Gatsby, Velo misto and new music events at the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Tickets for new events at the upcoming 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival are released online today and are available at the Festival website www.dubrovnik-festival.hr and via www.ulaznice.hr service. In addition to new music and dance events, tickets for Komedija Theatre’s most recent hit production, Velo misto, based on Miljenko Smoje's iconic work, which premiered in Zagreb at the beginning of March, are also available.

74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival ticket sale starts today

Tickets for the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival's numerous theatre and music events are available online as of today via the Festival website www.dubrovnik-festival.hr and www.ulaznice.hr service. A 10% early bird discount will be available for seven days, while purchases made with Mastercard® or Maestro® cards provide additional 10% discount.

Four theatre premieres and varied music programme at the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival

The Dubrovnik Summer Festival will traditionally take place from 10 July to 25 August this year. During the 47 days of the Festival’s 74th edition, the audiences will have the opportunity to enjoy a carefully selected programme comprising the Festival’s own productions and top guest performances featuring some of the best Croatian and international artists. More than 70 theatre, music, folklore and other events, with participation of around 1,000 artists, will be held on over 20 site-specific locations in Dubrovnik.

A magnificent Festival finale with opera stars and Croatian Radio and Television symphonists conducted by maestro Repušić

The 73rd Dubrovnik Summer Festival was closed last night, 25 August with a magnificent Opera Gala in front of the Cathedral on which outstanding opera stars, soprano Adela Zaharia and tenor Filip Filipović performed with the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra under the direction of maestro Ivan Repušić, after which actors and musicians put away the Libertas flag in a short ceremony set to Bach’s Suite No. 3 in D major until the next festival summer.

Orlando Awards for best artistic achievements at the 73rd Dubrovnik Summer Festival formally presented to artists

The winners of the Orlando Award for the best achievements in the drama and music programmes at the 73rd Dubrovnik Summer Festival, as well as the winner of the Grand Prix Orlando, were announced today, 25 August at a formal award ceremony held in the Sponza Palace Atrium.

Another successful Festival summer

The Dubrovnik Summer Festival has successfully brought another season to its end, holding a total of 74 drama, music, ballet, folklore, film, art and children's programmes during 47 days, from 10 July to 25 August at 17 site-specific locations in the city of Dubrovnik, as was concluded at the press conference on the occasion of the closing of the Festival held in the Sponza Palace Atrium today, and in which the Festival leadership, POA Paulina Njirić and Artistic Director Dora Ruždjak Podolski, took part in, as well as the Minister of Culture and Media, Ph.D. Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Mayor of the City of Dubrovnik Mato Franković and Dubrovnik-neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić. There, the final concert held by the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra with soprano Adela Zaharia and young tenor Filip Filipović under the direction of maestro Ivan Repušić was announced, taking place tonight, 25 August at 10 p.m. in front of the Cathedral, and with which traditionally the 73rd Dubrovnik Summer Festival Festival will be closed.

Joint session of the Orlando Award Council and the Orlando Award Jury held at Festival Palace

The joint sitting of the Orlando Award Council and the Orlando Award Jury was held this morning, 24 August at the Festival Palace. We will find out who the laureates of the 73rd Dubrovnik Summer Festival are and who won the Grand Prix for exceptional artistic contribution through several festival seasons tomorrow, 25 August at 10 am.

Opera gala in front of the Cathedral for the end of the 73rd Festival

The 73rd Dubrovnik Summer Festival will traditionally close with a concert that the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra under the direction of maestro Ivan Repušić will hold tomorrow, 25 August at 10 p.m. in front of the Cathedral, joined by the opera star, soprano Adela Zaharia and the young tenor Filip Filipović.

My Brilliant Friend brought to Gradac Park by Croatian National Theatre Zagreb

The theatre adaptation of the world-famous novel My Brilliant Friend by the contemporary Italian writer Elena Ferrante, directed by Marina Pejnović and based on the text by Nina Pavlović and Filip Jurjević, will be put on Tuesday and Wednesday, 23 and 24 August at 9.30 p.m. in Gradac Park. Both performances are sold out.

Bravi for Dubrovnik on a Rock of Music at the last festival concert at the Rector’s Palace

The unique music programme Dubrovnik on a Rock of Music, supported by the Caboga Stiftung foundation, gathered outstanding Dubrovnik musicians with soloists Đive Franetović Kušelj on the flute and mezzo-soprano Dubravka Šeparović Mušović, all under the baton of Tomislav Fačini, last night, 22 August at the last festival concert of the season in the Rector’s Palace Atrium, deservedly received with delighted shouts of “Bravi!”
