Pride and Prejudice Ballet in Gradac Park this weekend

The ballet piece based on the eponymous Jane Austen cult classic Pride and Prejudice, choreographed and directed by internationally acclaimed contemporary ballet artist Leo Mujić, will be performed by the Ballet of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb on Saturday and Sunday, 23 and 24 July in Gradac Park at 9:30 p.m.

Composer and participant of #synergy project Nina Perović presented part of her opus

Pianist and composer Nina Perović presented herself and part of her opus to the festival audience last night, 20 July in the Sponza Palace Atrium as part of the project #synergy: Sharpening the capacities of the classical music industry in the Western Balkans, on which the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is partner. The moderator was composer and Croatian representative on the project, Helena Skljarov.

New festival location rang with laughter at the Lovers premiere

First drama premiere of the 73rd Dubrovnik Summer Festival season, Lovers directed by Aleksandar Švabić and performed by the Festival Drama Ensemble, was held last night, 19 July in front of St. Jacob's Church. Judging by the first audience reactions, it was a job well done by the young creative team and the actors.

Presenting composer Nina Perović at the Rector's Palace

The young Montenegrin composer Nina Perović is the second participant of the two-week residency on the project #synergy: Sharpening the capacities of the classical music industry in the Western Balkans, on which the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is partner, who will present herself and her work to the festival audience tomorrow, 20 July, in the Sponza Palace Atrium at 8.30 p.m. Entrance is free.

Lovro Pogorelić tonight at the Rector’s Palace

One of the best Croatian pianists Lovro Pogorelić will perform in the Rector’s Palace Atrium tonight, 18 July at 9.30 p.m. and, along with Busoni's arrangement of Bach's Chaconne, the concert will include a rare integral performance of Liszt's Transcendental Études.

Lovers on a new festival location starting Tuesday

First drama premiere of the 73rd Festival season is the comedy Lovers, directed by Aleksandar Švabić and performed by the Festival Drama Ensemble, on the programme starting Tuesday, 19 July at 9.30 pm in front of St. Jacob's Church. On this occasion, a press conference was held at the Festival Palace, with speakers director Aleksandar Švabić, Assistant Artistic Director for the drama programme Saša Božić, and Josipa Vodenac, Director of the OTP Bank Business Centre Dubrovnik and Southern Dalmatia who are the sponsor of the play.

As part of the #synergy EU project, Kosovar composer Ardian Halimi presented his work in Sponza Palace

The young composer from Kosovo, Ardian Halimi presented himself and his work to the festival audience last night, 15 July, in the Sponza Palace Atrium as part of a two-week residency on the #synergy: Sharpening the capacities of the classical music industry in the Western Balkans project, with which the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is partnered. The interview was conducted by the Festival’s Assistant Artistic Director for the music programme, Tomislav Fačini.
