Debut performance of kvARTet at Rector’s Palace on Tuesday

Violinists Đana Kahriman, Eva Šulić and Šimun Končić with cellist Pavle Zajcev will share the stage together for the first time as kvARTet, on Tuesday 3 August at 9.30pm in the Rector’s Palace atrium, performing string quartets by van Beethoven and Dvořák.

The intimate and passionate “Lulu” captivates audiences on Lovrjenac

The dance-theatre-music monodrama Lulu by choreographer and director Staša Zurovac and performed by dancer Andressa Miyazato with Alexander Balanescu on violin, inspired by eponymous theatre works of Frank Wedekind, was put on as part of the 72nd Festival programme last night Saturday 31 July, captivating the audiences on Lovrjenac. Lulu will be on again tonight, Sunday 1 August at 9.30pm also on the Lovrjenac fort.

“Under the Same Roof” staged at Lazareti

The play “Under the Same Roof” produced as part of the “Port of Dreamers” EU project and directed by Ivana Janošev, with co-production by the Kulturanova Association and the Hungarian minority Novi Sad Theatre – Újvidéki Színház, was staged at the 72nd Festival last night 29 July at 9.30pm at Lazareti. The play is on again this evening for the last time this Festival season, and completely sold out.

Ovations at the Rector’s Palace for the DSO String Chamber Ensemble and Eva Šulić under the baton of Ivan Hut

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra (DSO) String Chamber Ensemble held a concert last night, 29 July in the Rector’s Palace atrium with the violinist Eva Šulić under the baton of maestro Ivan Hut, who had his Festival debut after becoming a DSO conductor in December last year. The Orchestra and Šulić played pieces by Dešpalj, Piazzolla and Shostakovich.

Grand Golden Arena winner “A Blue Flower” screened at the 72nd Festival

Last night, 28 July, at the Jadran open-air cinema the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, in cooperation with Pula Film Festival and Dubrovnik Cinemas, hosted the traditional free screening of the winning Croatian feature film from Pula, this year director Zrinko Ogresta’s drama “A Blue Flower”.

Držić's “Grižula” once more in Gradac Park starting Monday

The 71st Festival drama success Marin Držić’s “Grižula” directed by Saša Božić and Petra Hrašćanec, performed by the Festival Drama Ensemble in collaboration with the Academy of Dramatic Art Zagreb, will be put on once more this Festival season in the Gradac Park. Performances are scheduled for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, 2 3 and 4 August at 9.30pm.

The play “Under the Same Roof” is directed by Ivana Janošev, co-produced by the Kulturanova Association and the Hungarian minority Novi Sad Theatre – Újvidéki Színház, and created within the Port of Dreamers EU project. The play will be performed at the 72nd Festival on Thursday and Friday 29 and 30 July at 9.30pm at Lazareti. Tickets to both nights are sold out.

Best Croatian feature from Pula Film Festival “A Blue Flower” to be screened at the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival

In collaboration with Pula Film Festival and the Dubrovnik Cinemas, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival will be showing the award-winning feature film A Blue Flower directed by Zrinko Ogresta on Wednesday 28 July at 9.30pm, at the Jadran open-air cinema. Entrance is free but due to the limited number of seating, tickets must be picked up prior at the Festival Palace box office.
