Slovenian “Celebration” is a moving yet poignant tribute at Lazareti

The second play produced as part of the Port of Dreamers EU project, the Slovenian play Celebration, which is an SNT Maribor prodution based on an Ivor Martinić text and directed by Jan Krmelj, was performed last night, 18 July, and is on again for the final time this Festival season tonight, 19 July, at 9.30pm also at Lazareti. The play is in Slovenian, with Croatian subtitles.

Richard Bona and Alfredo Rodríguez trio joined by the Croatian Radio and Television Jazz Orchestra Tuesday in front of the Cathedral

Cameroon-born American jazz virtuoso Richard Bona, Cuban pianist and composer Alfred Rodríguez and drummer Ludwig Afonso will be joined by the Croatian Radio and Television Jazz Orchestra, under the baton of Miron Hauser, in front of the Cathedral where they will hold an undoubtedly unforgettable jazz event of the Festival, on Tuesday 20 July at 9.30pm. The concert is proudly sponsored by Mastercard.

"Without Compromise" Exhibition in honor of the great Ika Škomrlj Ajki

The retrospective exhibition titled “Without Compromise” – Ika Škomrlj Ajki by authors Ivana Bakal and Martina Petranović opens on Saturday 17 July at 9pm, at Lazareti; in cooperation of ULUPUH (Croatian Association of Artists of Applied Arts) and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Brilliant Lovre Marušić delights Festival audience at Rector’s Palace

The brilliant young virtuoso Lovre Marušić held a piano recital last night, 16 July, in the Rector’s Palace atrium, as part of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival’s music programme. For his Festival debut he chose to play Schumann, Haydn, Ravel and Liszt.

Port of Dreamers final publication presented at Festival Palace

The presentation of the Port of Dreamers project final publication was held today, 16 July, in the Festival Palace in Dubrovnik. The presentation itself was live-streamed online and a video of the event is available on the official YouTube channel of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, as well as the project’s own Facebook page and all partner organizations’ Facebook pages.

Lovre Marušić to hold piano recital at Rector’s Palace

The award-winning young pianist Lovre Marušić will be performing pieces by Schumann, Haydn, Ravel and Liszt on Friday 16 July at 9.30pm in the Rector’s Palace atrium as part of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival music programme.

“Beside Oneself” premieres at Lazareti and Komarda

An original project by Nataša Rajković, Ivan Penović and the play’s cast, Beside Oneself , produced as part of the Port of Dreamers project co-funded by the European Union Creative Europe programme, premiered last night, 13 July at Lazareti and Komarda as part of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Papandopulo’s Croatian Mass to be performed by Croatian Radio and Television Choir at Rector’s Palace

Croatian Radio and Television Choir under the baton of maestro Tomislav Fačini and with soloists of the evening Darija Auguštan, Martina Gojčeta Silić, Stjepan Franetović and Robert Kolar will hold the first concert at the Rector’s Palace atrium of this Festival season on Thursday, 15 July at 9.30pm. They will perform Croatian Mass by Boris Papandopulo.

Premiering performance of Percussion Club launches the music programme of the 72nd Festival

The quartet Percussion Club made up by percussion virtuosos Ivana Kuljerić Bilić, Nikola Krbanyevitch, Francesco Mazzoleni and Luis Camacho Montealegre had their premiere performance right here at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival last night, 12 July in front of St. Blaise’s Church. They were joined by guest performer, Dubrovnik’s own Karmen Pervitić.

“Fortune Teller” group exhibition at Sponza Palace until Festival closing

The “Fortune Teller” group exhibition was opened last night, 11 July in the Sponza Palace atrium. The exhibition curator is Selma Hafizović and alongside her own works on show are pieces by Jagoda Buić, Iva Laterza, Dubravka Lošić, Rebecca Ribichini and Tanya Small. It is open every day until the Festival closing 25 August and entrance is free.
