Original play Beside Oneself to be the first premiere of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Beside Oneself, a project by Nataša Rajković, Ivan Penović and the play’s cast, will be the first drama premiere of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival, with the performances scheduled for 13, 14 and 15 July at 21:30 at Lazareti. The rehearsals are currently underway in Zagreb and the play is produced within the Port of Dreamers project co-funded by the European Union Creative Europe programme, with the Dubrovnik Summer Festival as the leading partner.

Richard Bona to appear with Alfredo Rodríguez and Croatian Radio and Television Jazz Orchestra at the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival

The Cameroonian-American jazz musician Richard Bona will appear at the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival with the Cuban pianist Alfredo Rodríguez and the Croatian Radio and Television Jazz Orchestra on Tuesday, 20 July at 9.30 pm in front of the Cathedral.

Partner meeting and official presentation of the #synergy project held in Kotor

Partner meeting and official presentation of the EU project #synergy: Sharpening the capacities of the classical music industry in the Western Balkans were held on 2 June at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Kotor, Montenegro. The project is co-funded by the EU Creative Europe programme, with the aim of strengthening cultural cooperation and competitiveness of cultural and creative industries in the Western Balkans, and it gathers some of the major festivals in the region.

Ticket reservations now available for the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Due to great interest from the public, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival’s Sales Office has started accepting reservations for the programmes of the 72nd edition of the Festival, while the start of ticket sales is expected after the announcement of new epidemiological measures by the Croatian Institute of Public Health.

The 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival programme announced

The 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival will take place on a number of stages and site-specific locations in Dubrovnik from 10 July to 25 August 2021. Hoping that the summer will bring more favourable epidemiological situation, the Festival’s leadership has announced a varied theatre, music, dance and folklore programme for the upcoming festival season in Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik Summer Festival to take place this year from 10 July to 25 August

It was announced that the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival will take place on a number of stages and site-specific locations in Dubrovnik from 10 July to 25 August 2021. Although it is not possible to plan the programme at this moment due to uncertain epidemiological situation and funding, the Festival’s leadership remains active in its efforts to have one of Europe’s oldest festivals take place this summer and provide its audiences with a varied theatre, music, dance and folklore programme.

Future Epics: Online residency program from 23rd till 28th November

The last part of the two-year project supported by Creative Europe will be held in an online form from 23rd till 28th November. During the week partners will participate in the intensive program with the idea of summarizing the results of the project and presenting them to the wider audience.

End of the 71st Dubrovnik Summer Festival – top artistic achievements despite the crisis

Despite the global pandemic and difficult conditions in which it was held this year, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival has successfully reached the end of its 71st season, which included nearly 50 theatre, music, dance, folklore and other programmes performed on 13 site-specific locations in Dubrovnik during 47 days, from 10 July to 25 August, it was stated at the press conference held today at the Sponza Palace, in which the media were addressed by the Croatian Minister of Culture and Media Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Mayor of Dubrovnik Mato Franković, Dubrovnik-Neretva County Prefect Nikola Dobroslavić, the Festival’s Artistic Director Dora Ruždjak Podolski and Executive Director Ivana Medo Bogdanović.

Greatest artistic achievements on the 71st Festival awarded with Orlando

The Croatian radio-television has announced the winners of this year's Orlando Awards and handed them their prize for the best achievements in the drama and music part of the 71st Dubrovnik Summer Festival programme. The awarding ceremony took place on Tuesday, 25 August in the Sponza Palace Atrium.
