New festival program entitled Key to the Future that presents young laureates of prestigious international music competitions will be opened this Sunday, 14 August at 9:30 PM in the Rector's Palace atrium with piano recital by Andrew Tyson. For the festival audience that still holds great impressions of last year Tyson’s performance, young pianist has prepared Domenico Scarlatti'sthree sonatas, Frederic Chopin's three mazurkas, Alexander Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 3, Isaac Albéniz's Iberia (book 1) and Spanish Rhapsody by Franz Liszt.
The premiere screening of a short film MAGDA MOZARKA directed by Bojana Momirović will be held on Thursday, August 11th at 21:30 in the open air cinema Jadran.
One of the greatest classical musicians of today, Ivo Pogorelich will perform at the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival on Tuesday, 9 August at 9.30 pm in the Rector's Palace Atrium. Maestro will perform Sonata in D major by Joseph Haydn, Rondo a capriccio by Ludwig van Beethoven, Debussy's Pour le piano suite and Rachmaninoff's Moments musicaux in second part of the concert.
Dance performance Anything by the awarded Spanish choreographer Daniel Abreu, was performed last night, 6 August, by the dancers from reputable Zagreb Dance Company on the Revelin Fort Terrace as part of the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival programme.
Programme of the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival has just two more performances by Linđo Folklore Ensemble left till closing. First will be held on Sunday 7 August and the last one will take place on 12 August, at 9.30 pm on the Revelin Fort Terrace.
Michele Campanella, Italian piano virtuoso performed on 5 August in the atrium of the Rector's Palace. Compositions by Robert Schumann, Prokofiev and Modest Mussorgsky have been included in the recital programme and presented to the festival audience. Although Michele Campanella is in his seventies, he evoked the incredible energy of young men.
„La bottega del caffè“ directed by Vinko Brešan was the first premiere title in the theater programme of 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival - and it conquered the hearts of local audience. More than 4000 people watched two dressed rehearsals and altogether six performances which were held on 31 June, 1, 2, 3, 4and 5 of August. The last one was additionally added to the programme because of the exceptional interest of the audience.
