Orlando award giving ceremony and gala concert for the closure of the 67th Festival

The final evening of the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival will mark the award giving ceremony of the Orlando Prize for the best artistic achievements in drama and in music program and gala concert. Closing ceremony will be held on Thursday, 25 August at 10:00 PM in front of the St. Blaise's Church. After the award ceremony, on a stage in front of Saint Blaise enters the Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra conducted by Ivo Lipanović, last year's Orlando laureate Henschel Quartet, soprano Valentina Fijačko Kobić and mezzo-soprano Dubravka Šeparović Mušović.

Repertoire of Festival closing concert consists of Jakov Gotovac's Symphonic Wheel-dance, Edward Elgar's Introduction and Allegro, Dvořák's Aria of Rusalka (Act 1) fromopera Rusalka and Aria of Marguerite (Act 3) from Charles Gounod's  Faust  opera performed by soprano Valentina Fijačko, Aria of Princess Eboli (Act 4): O don fatale from Giuseppe Verdi's opera Don Carlos and Aria of Isolde (Act3): Mild und leise from Richard Wagner's opera Tristan and Isolde performed by Dubravka Šeparović Mušović as well as the Blagoje Bersa's Andante sostenuto. The concert will be live broadcasted on the Third Programme of Croatian Television and on the Radio Dubrovnik. 

Apart from regular concer­ts in Zagreb and the obligation of participation in radio and television programs, the Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra also performs around the country and abroad. In a series of performances at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival another one will pass under the steady hand of respectable conductor Ivo Lipanović, born in Dubrovnik, originating from Lumbarda on the Island of Korčula.  Orlando crowned Münich Henschel Quartet with violinists members Christoph Henschel and Catalin Desag, violist Monika Henschel-Schwind and cellist Matthias Beyer-Karlshojem will perform with the Orchestra. Queens of the final evening are soprano Valentina Fijačko and mezzo-soprano Dubravka Šeparović Mušović. Valentina Fijačko is one of the most prominent personalities on Croatia’s present-day operatic and concert scenes. Her suggestive singing and acting skills coupled with her spontaneous interpretation have been warmly received at the Croatian national theatres of Split, Zagreb, Rijeka and Osijek, as well at Croatia's major music festivals. Dubravka Šeparović Mušović is another local at the concert, well-known to festival audience, opera champion of Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, crowned with two Orlando Prizes and numerous awards.

Tickets for the closing ceremony are available at the box office in the ground floor of the Festival Palace (Od Sigurate 1) and in Luža (Bell Tower).
