In 2008, at the 17th Prague-Vienna-Budapest International Summer Academy, Dorotić attended a master class conducted by Rotraud Hansmann, and won 1st prize for one of the best singing interpretations. In the International Singing Competition at Schloss Laubach (2008, Germany), he won 1st Jury Prize, and in 2009 the Croatian Theatre Award in the category Outstanding Accomplishments of Young Opera Singers up to 30 years of age for the role of Max in the Crux Dissimulata (by S. Bradic, directed by K. Dolenčić and produced by the Croatian National Theatre of Zagreb and the 25th Zagreb Music Biennale), and for the role of Fenton in Falstaff (by G. Verdi, directed by A.
