The clarinetist Marija Pavlović is one of the most gifted musicians of the new generation in Croatia. Her music career began in her home town of Dubrovnik. During the war years in Dubrovnik she continued her education in Zagreb. The very early separation from her parents and the resulting independence have undoubtedly played a very important role in her artistic development. Her path took her beyond the borders of Croatia, and the desire to further her development opened the way to an international career.
She graduated from the Zagreb Music Academy after which she perfected her art at the Salzburg Mozarteum in the class of Alois Brandhofer. Additionally, she worked with Walter Boeykens, Ivo Lybeert and Pascal Moraguez. She received further musical advice through masterclasses with esteemed artists such as Radovan Vlatković, Péter Czaba, Hansjörg Schellenberger, Zakhar Bron and Eduard Brunner.

With the flutist Edith Van Dyck, she established a chamber ensemble "Focus", which performs in various chamber ensembles.
