With a growing international reputation in both the opera and orchestral arenas, conductor Ramón Tebar is known for his musical versatility, compelling interpretations and orchestra building skills. A popular guest conductor worldwide, Maestro Tebar has the distinction of being the first Spanish conductor to be appointed Music Director of an American opera company, the Florida Grand Opera (FGO). Having successfully served as Music Director of the FGO since 2011 following his acclaimed debut in 2010, Tebar's long-term relationship with the company continues with the new title of Principal Conductor. Artistic Director of the Palm Beach Symphony since 2010, this past January 2014 Tebar was appointed Music Director of the Dominican Republic's biannual Festival Musical de Santo Domingo, and in May 2014 was appointed Artistic Director of Florida's Opera Naples.

Following a 2014 summer season which included Bizet's Carmen with the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo in Brazil, Puccini's Madama Butterfly with Cincinnati Opera and a new production of Verdi's La Traviata with theOrquesta Sinfónica de Galicia at the Festival de Opera de A Coruña (Spain), Tebar divides his 2014-15 season between opera and orchestral engagements. In addition to leading productions of Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Mozart's Così fan Tutte with Florida Grand Opera and concerts with the Palm Beach Symphony, Tebar oversees his first season with the Festival Musical de Santo Domingo with guest soloists violinist Vadim Repin, pianist Javier Perianes, mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught, and tenor Lawrence Brownlee. With Opera Naples, he leads productions of Puccini's La Bohème, Mozart's Così fan Tutti, (the first production in the company's new home, The David and Cecile Wang Opera Center), Rodriguez's Tango, Piazzolla's Maria de Buenos Aires and Bizet/Brook's La tragédie de Carmen. Guest engagements include concerts with Peru's Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional, and Spain's Orquesta Sinfónica del Principado de Asturias, Orquesta y Coro Nacional de España, and the Bilbao Orkestra Sinfonikoa, among others.

Maestro Tebar's 2013-2014 season included leading four productions with Florida Grand Opera: Levy's Mourning Becomes Electra, Verdi's Nabucco, Puccini's Tosca and Massenet's Thaïs to critical acclaim. Orchestral engagements included the Palm Beach Symphony, Bulgarian National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Turkey's CSO Presidential Symphony Orchestra, Spain's Symphony Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and Netherlands's Het Gelders Orkest.

Tebar's guesting credits include leading operatic repertoire for such distinguished organizations as Italy's Teatro Regio di Torino, Martina Franca Festival, and Teatro Lirico di Cagliari; Spain's Festival de Opera de a Coruna; Germany's Kolner Philharmonie; Russia's Kremlin Palace; Netherlands's Het Concertgebouw and Argentina's Teatro Colon. Among his orchestral guesting credits are Orquesta Sinfonica Ciudad de Oviedo and Orquesta de Radio Television Espanola in Spain; St. Petersburg Symphony and Moscow State Symphony Orchestra in Russia; Orchestra de Rouen Haute-Normandie in France; Het Gelders Orkest in the Netherlands; Orchestra Teatro Regio di Torino and the Spoleto Festival Orchestra in Italy, to name a few. Amongst the numerous acclaimed artists with whom he has worked are Roberto Alagna, Joshua Bell, Montserrat Caballe, Joseph Calleja, Gautier Capucon, Placido Domingo, Angela Gheorghiu, Maria Guleghina, Ben Heppner and Renata Scotto.
