Fine tunes of Beethoven and Schumann at the Fort Revelin
Young virtuoso at cello Luka Šulić accompanied by the Australian Chamber Orchestra and conducted by Richard Tognetti performed at Fort Revelin on Monday, August 23.
At the program were Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Coriolanus Overture, and Schumann’s concert for violoncello and orchestra, performance of which brought award to Luka Šulić at the competition W. Lutoslawski at Warsaw last year.
Very talented, young Luka Šulić from Dubrovnik performed as a soloist in many European musical centers and cooperated with many eminent orchestras. Winner of numerous competitions and honors Šulić performed at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival several times. He also performed around Europe and North and South America while especially distinct were his performances with Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, and National Orchestra Ermitaž from Sankt Petersburg and others.
Australian Chamber Orchestra at the repertoire has compositions of great masters of different styles, and gladly accepts innovative projects and special orders. Orchestra performed in numerous music centers throughout Europe, U.S.A. and Asia. During forty international tours, Orchestra performed in three hundred and five cities with excellent reviews by the critics and audiences. Its members are superior musicians and many of them play at the antique and very valuable instruments. Richard Tognetti became the artistic leader and first violin of this Orchestra when he was only twenty-five, but in twenty years of working with the Orchestra succeeded in making it one of the world top-level ensembles.
