Guitar Trio performed at the Rector's Palace
The great guitar trio - Zoran Dukić, Petrit Çeku and Maroje Brčić performed as part of the rich music program of the 62nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival on August 11 at the Rector's Palace Atrium.
Zoran Dukić is the only guitarist who won both International Andrés Segovia Competitions (in Granada and Palma de Mallorca). His other awards include Fernando Sor, Manuel Ponce, Manuel de Falla and Francisco Tárrega. In the greatest Spanish guitar competition taking place in Madrid under the auspices of the Royal Family, he was awarded both 1st and Special Prize for best interpretation of the Spanish music. Dukić performed on all continents as soloist and accompanied by orchestras, while many composers have dedicated their works to him. At the Dubrovnik Summer Festival he performed with Petrit Çeku, who has won a large number of 1st prizes in international competitions including Anna Amalia in Weimar, Emilio Pujol in Sassari, Andrés Segovia in Velbert, and Ferdo Livadić in Samobor. He has also won 1st prize in the European Youth Music Award Competition, and holds the Ivo Vuljević Croatian Musical Youth Prize and the 2008 Young Musician of the Year Prize awarded by the Zagreb Philharmonic. Third trio member is Maroje Brčić, who has performed at many festivals and concert halls in Croatia, as well as in Europe and North America. As a soloist he has performed with many renowned orchestras. His awards include the Milka Trnina Diploma which he won with the Dubrovnik Guitar Trio, whereas his concert at the 60th Dubrovnik Summer Festival with Zoran Dukić brought him the prestigious Orlando Award.
At the concert, guitarists performed compositions by Ravel, Petrinjak, Asencio, Llobet, Granados, Albéniz, Rodrigo, Bellinati and de Falla.
