'Hamlet' on Fort Lovrjenac
Dubrovnik Summer Festival ensemble will perform the last year's premiere title 'Hamlet', Shakespeare's tragedy directed by Ivica Kunčević on fort Lovrjenac at 9.30 PM.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet had numerous interpretations at the Festival with diverse famous directors as Marko Foteza and Joško Juvančić. The Kunčević's 'Hamlet' was play in Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb and in Mostar theatre as well.
Thirty year old actor of the Zagreb HNK, Luka Dragić impersonates the title role of the Danish prince which makes him a 15th Hamlet at the Festival. The role of Ophelia referred to Mirna Medaković, Goran Grgić is the king, and Alma Prica is the queen. Other roles: Zvonimir Zoričić, Radovan Ruždjak, Amar Bukvić, Ivan Glowatzky, Marko Makovičić, Zijad Gračić, Krunoslav Šarić, Kristijan Potočki, Barbara Vicković, Dušan Gojić, Srđana Šimunović, Tomislav Stojković, Josip Filipović, Ioan Barbu, Grga Raguž, and Darko Juroš.
Scene design is signed by Dubravka Lošić, costumes by Danica Dedijer, choreography by Ivana Bičan Boban, while the lightening is the responsibility of Zoran Mihanović.
The Festival audience will have the chance to see the play on August 13 and 14.
