62nd season of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival closed!
The 62nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival was closed with the final Vip concert of one of the world's greatest countertenors - Max Emanuel Cenčić and with ceremonious lowering of the Festival's flag, last night, on August 25 in front of the ST.Blaise's Church at midnight.
In front of more than 700 people in the auditorium and just as much audience in surrounding areas, celebrated Croatian countertenor, previous member and soloist of the Vienna Boys Choir and last year’s winner of the Orlando Award - Max Emanuel Cenčić, performed with the Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Ivan Repušić. The arias by Italian masters: Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti and Nabucco overture, overtures of The Barber of Seville and of The Force of Destiny, that were performed last night by these great artists at the magnificent stage in front of the St.Blaise’s Church, marked the end of another successful Festival season. The members of the Festival Drama Ensemble traditionally lowered the Festival’s flag Libertas which had been flaunting at the Orlando’s Column for 47 days.
At the 62nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival, in period from July 10 to August 25, 75 theatre, music, folklore, film, ballet and other programs, in which participated more than 2000 artists from all over the world, were performed at 15 ambiance venues of the Renaissance city of Dubrovnik.
