„The Observers” by Ivana Popović
As part of the off-program of the 62nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival, academic sculptor, fashion designer and visual artist Ivana Popović presented a sequence of artistic installations in the unique project titled “The Observers”, in the period from August 20 to 25 at the venues of Festival’s program performances.
The Observers by this eccentric and multitalented Croatian artist, started their ‘observing journey’ precisely at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. The Observers have ‘enjoyed’ Boris Berezovsky’s performance on August 20, the day after they ‘walked in’ to the painting exhibition by Igor Rončević, at the Lazaretto ‘followed’ the performance of Nocturnal Butterflies, on August 23 carefully ‘listened to’ Renata Pokupić’s recital, while the final concert and the closing of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival the Observers followed from the first row in front of the St. Blaise’s Church. The project, including the photos of these intriguing installations set at the Festival, as well as the journal carefully led by the Observers, will be presented at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb.
