Orlando Trio as Festival's Tradition
One of the most influential Croatian Chamber Ensembles named Orlando Trio performed together with the violist Aleksandar Milošev in the Rector's Palace Atrium.
Milošev is a permanent member of Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and guest soloist in Munchen and Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Orlando Trio had their first concert at the Festival in 1985 and they got their name according to the prize given to the best Festival’s artists.
Besides the standard chamber repertoire, Orlando Trio cherishes Croatian music tradition, but it also supports contemporary composers (Boris Papandopulo, Stanko Horvat, Dubravko Detoni, Igor Kuljerić, Berislav Šipuš, Krešimir Seletković and many more) in writing compositions dedicated to them.
While preparing Sorkočević’s piece for the performance, violinist Tonko Ninić and pianist Vladimir Krpan edited their parts of the composition according to their personal interpretation of Sorkočević’s original version. They also performed compositions by L. van Beethoven and J. Brahms.
