Songs of European nations in the Rector’s Palace
National Folk and Dance Ensemble LADO from Zagreb will perform at the 62nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival with an attractive music repertoire on Tuesday, July 12 at 9:30 pm at the Rector’s Palace Atrium.
For this Festival season Folklore Ensemble LADO has prepared songs of European nations including Croatian, Slovenian, Bulgarian, Italian, Greek, UK, French, Polish, Catalonian, Slovakian, Hungarian, German, Swedish, Jewish, Romanian, Lithuanian, Danish and Czech songs. Shorter version of this repertoire had its premier in 1985 in Croatian Music Institute for the celebration of European Music Year. Renowned, 26 years later, the repertoire will be presented to the audience of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Nearly all songs are based on, somewhat refined, authentic melodies.
The audience will, without any doubt, truly enjoy these melodies which are common cultural heritage of the European nations. The concert is supported by INA oil industry from Croatia.
