Directed and performed by Edvin Liverić, Diva was created in production of TRAFIK and co-production of Zagreb Student Center and Theatre &TD Laboratory. The play has been conceived as a multimedia lecture-performance which explores and elaborates, and is a kind of demystification, both in sociological and in cultural sense, of the notion of diva. This lecture performance was designed as a presentation of true data from the lives of divas who marked the golden age of Hollywood, such as - Mae West, Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich, Marylin Monroe, Ava Gardner, Bette Davis, Anna Magnani, Sophia Loren and others, trying to answer the questions of what is it about the divas that fascinates us and how do we contribute to that big illusion.
Edvin Liverić has been a member of the Zagreb Youth Theatre since 1995, is a selector for The Street Art Festival in Poreč and founder and director of Trafik Co. in Rijeka. Closely tied with the dance theatre, Liverić carried out numerous roles in Croatian and international theatres. Transitive-Fiction Theatre (TRAFIK) is an independent theatre group, founded in Rijeka in 1998 with thematic objectives always related to questions of identity of the individual lost on the margins of time and space, with the central interest for the body which is explored through different arts forms and interdisciplinary.  TRAFIK participated at almost all Croatian theatre festivals and many abroad, including Czech Republic, Italy, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Singapore and Germany, and received several awards. Diva's performance at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is a result of the continuous collaboration with the Art Workshop Lazareti and desire that these unique projects and collaborations with independent theatres find their place at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival's program.
