Three Musical Additions for a Magnificent Pianist
One of the greatest Russian pianists, Nikolai Lugansky performed in Rector’s Palace Atrium on July 30 within the musical program of the 61st Dubrovnik Summer Festival. He played compositions by F. Chopin and S. Rahmanjinov and also three additions, asked by the impressed audience.

One of the critics commented on Lugansky’s performance at the Čajkovski competition: “It is almost inconceivable that such modest, almost poetic appearance actually hides a musical volcano managed by highly inspirited, but still strict and decisive thought control.” After that performance, Lugansky’s career has been incredibly rising, which is proven by the last night’s concert.
This was the first piano recital within Dubrovnik Summer Festival and it is inevitable to announce the performance of another great Russian pianist named Boris Berezovsky on August 11.
