Two Concerts of Radovan Vlatković
Guest of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival's music program, worldwide recognized horn player Radovan Vlatković performed on August 20th and on Sunday, August 22nd accompanied by the Austrian chamber orchestra Wiener Concertverein at the Rector's Palace Atrium.
During these two performances, artists played Four Concerts for Horn and Orchestra by W. A. Mozart and all eight symphonies by Luka Sorkočević.
Honored musician of Croatian origin and one of the best horn players of today, Radovan Vlatković started playing at the age of six, and so far has won numerous awards around Europe. First award at the International competition in München in 1983 at the age of twenty-one brought him international reputation. As a soloist and a chamber musician he performed at the numerous concerts with the most eminent musicians of today and thrilled audiences throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and the U.S. Vlatković is the winner of the Milka Trnina, Vladimir Nazor and Ivo Vuljević awards and the Orlando, awarded by the Dubrovnik Summer Festival for the best music performance in 1998.
Worldwide renowned chamber orchestra Wiener Concertverein was founded in 1987, and its members are members of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. Diverse repertoire varies from the compositions of Austrian classic to more contemporary authors, especially more than forty compositions of the Austrian composers that were mostly for the first time ever performed by this Orchestra. Many renowned and awarded conductors, such as Vladimir Fedosejev, Leopold Hager, Ulf Schirmer and Marcello Viotti performed with this Orchestra.
