Zoran Todorovich and Fabio Vettraino at the Festival
Zoran Todorovich, worldwide recognized tenor of a distinctive voice, accompanied by pianist Fabio Vettraino performed works of great masters of Italian opera Giuseppe Verdi, Francesco Paolo Tosta and Giacomo Puccini in the Rector’s Palace Atrium on August 13.
Zoran Todorovich is of Serbian origin, living and working in Germany and throughout Europe as well. His powerful voice and excellent performances brought him numerous awards. Todorovich cooperated with the most distinguished German orchestras, from Berlin to München Philharmonic Orchestras. He started singing as Lyric tenor and Lyric-Spinto tenor, gradually moving to dramatic repertoire. Because of the wide range of his repertoire, from Spinto to Dramatic tenor, he is one of the most fascinating tenors of today. He is regular partner in the operas and concerts to the greatest singing divas. Todorovich was a guest at the last season’s Festival when he thrilled the audience.
At the 61st Dubrovnik Summer Festival Todorovich performed accompanied by the Italian pianist and conductor Fabio Vettraino who studied piano and conducting at the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia as one of the best student of his generation. He continued the artistic development working with Franco Ferrari, Pierre Dervaux, Arpad Joo and Mosche Atzmon. He cooperated with the famous soprano Lucia Aliberti, and later with many German opera singers. Vettraini is a full-time professor at the Detmold Music Academy.
In the Rector’s Palace Atrium Todorovich and Vettraino performed with the Guiseppe Verdi’s Compositioni da camera (Deh,pietoso,oh Addolorata, Il tramonto, In solitaria stanza, Non t´accostare all´urna, Brindisi), Francesco Paolo Tosti's Romanze (Ultima canzone, Non t´amo piu, Malia) and Giacomo Puccini's Aria da camera (A te, Mentia l´avviso, Storiella d´amore, Sole e amore, Inno a Diana, E l´uccelino, Terra e mare, Canto d´anime, Casa mia, Morire?, Avanti Urania).
