As an essential part of the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Dubrovnik and Croatia, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra performs in the unique ambiances of its City presenting their musical repertoire and inexhaustible source of quality cultural events to fellow citizens and guests in spaces such as the atrium of the Rector's Palace, city churches, and squares. They also regularly perform with well-known local and internationally renowned artists, interpreting works by classical music masters in Dubrovnik and on their tours around the world. The DSO's String Chamber Ensemble is its heart, continuing to amaze local and foreign audiences with their masterful interpretations combined with a singular ease of playing.

Maestro Ivan Hut, interestingly also a skilled violist, discovered a love for conducting working with the great Pavle Dešpalj. Since December 2020, Hut is Resident Conductor at the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra. His conducting debut at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival was last year, at the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
