The youngest festival audience enjoyed the cheerful musical-theatre treat I Want to Sing a Song: Pocoloca Orchestra, performed by Poco Loco Theatre yesterday, 22 August at the Slavica open-air cinema.
With the I Want to Sing a Song: Pocoloca Orchestra programme, the six-member band took the gathered crowd both young and old through the colourful world of everyone’s favourite fairy tales and characters. Through their musical performances, they brought to the stage the stories of Little Red Riding Hood, The Three Little Pigs, The Witch, The Little Mermaid, Thumbelina, The Ugly Duckling, Puss in Boots, and many others. Each song carried with it a message about important life values such as courage, honesty, and empathy, and in this fun way they taught the children important life lessons through art and entertainment.
The Poco Loco Theatre designed this project with the aim of bringing the aforementioned values closer to children through dance and song. Their desire was not only to educate the young audience about the importance of bravely facing challenges, honestly expressing feelings and having compassion towards others, but also to provide them with an unforgettable entertainment experience. And they achieved this in the best possible way, creating a magical atmosphere on stage and an immediate connection with the children in the audience who had a great time with the music. And so laughter, clapping and joy filled the Slavica open-air cinema as the little ones delighted in this joyful musical-theatre adventure.
Poco Loco Theatre was founded in September 2014 and since then continuously gathers professional actors, musicians, directors, dramaturges, visual artists, and theatre pedagogues.
