Maria João Pires' piano workshop will take place at the Luka Sorkočević Art School in the heart of the historic city of Dubrovnik, Croatia, 1 - 7 August 2018. The workshops of Partitura Movement are designed above all as places of transmission but nonetheless they are always in keeping with the project’s social and cultural aims. In a setting that encourages respect for the needs and rhythms of everyone, experienced musicians who have reflected on their own journey, share their artistic vision with young artists in training. The purpose is not only to perpetuate techniques and know-how, to sharpen sensitivities, but also to forge a personal relationship with music, which is inseparable from the role of the artist today.
The final concert programme will be selected from the workshop repertoire.
