Everything is set for tonight's Opening ceremony

The Dress rehearsal for the Opening ceremony of the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival took place last night, 9 July at midnight. Traditionally, the people of Dubrovnik and their guests didn't miss it.

The Opening ceremony of the Festival will take place tonight, 10 July at 9 pm, in front of St. Blaise's Church. Mani Gotovac wrote the script and the director is Ivan Miladinov. The Festival Drama Ensemble includes Nikola Baće (Master of Ceremonies), Dragan Despot, Boris Svrtan, Doris Šarić Kukuljica, Nikša Butijer, Pjer Meničanin, Anđela Ramljak,

Anja Đurinović and Olga Pakalović.

 Linđo Folklore Ensemble, which is celebrating it's 50anniversary at the Festival, is also performing tonight, as well as "Kolarin" Theatre Company, Dance studio "Lazareti", The Ballet department of the Art school "Luka Sorkočević" and many others.

 

The music will be performed by The Croatian Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, The Dubrovnik Brass Band, "Ivan Goran Kovačić" Academic Choir and The Dubrovnik Chamber Choir. José Cura, together with Mladen Tarbuk, will conduct, and sing with tenor Cristian Suriani and soprano Ilijana Korać Teklić and Linda Ballova. The end of the Opening ceremony will be marked by fireworks starting around 10 pm.

 

The Opening ceremony will be broadcasted live by Radio Dubrovnik and The First Channel of Croatian Radio, and also by the First Channel of Croatian National Television.
