Description
Guitar masterclass held by Petrit Çeku will take place from 18 to 24 July 2021 at the Luka Sorkočević Art School in Dubrovnik. The masterclass will focus on the interpretation, expressiveness and general artistic development of the musicians. Participants of this masterclass organised by the Dubrovnik Summer Festival will receive a certificate of attendance. The final concert of the participants will be held on 24 July 2021 at the Bunić-Kaboga Summer Villa dating from 16 century.
Application requirements
- Application should contain a short CV (max. 800 characters) with information about musical training, performing experience and a list of awards and achievements of the applicant.
- Video or audio recording (5 to 10 minutes in length) of one piece performed by the applicant which represents his/her qualities is a mandatory part of the application for masterclasses organised by the Dubrovnik Summer Festival.
- Video or audio recordings should be published on YouTube and application form must contain links to the recordings.

Age limit
The masterclass is primarily intended for students and guitar players with higher formal education and to all chamber ensembles that include guitar (e.g. flute and guitar, violin and guitar, etc.). However, talented individuals under the age of 18 will also be considered, but if selected will have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Selection process
Each element of every application is carefully evaluated and compared to the overall information about the applicants. Assessment of the candidates is carried out by our team of experts based on the quality presented in candidates’ recordings and on information delivered. All applicants will be notified of the results of the selection process by e-mail no later than 1 July 2021. Maximum number of participants is limited to six students.
Masterclass fee
Applicants who pass the selection process for this year's masterclass are required to pay attendance fee* in advance, no later than 10 July 2021. Refund is possible only in exceptional circumstances, for example if a candidate is prevented from attending the masterclass due to illness.
The fee includes:
- Six individual classes and group work: Master class, workshop and a lecture.
- Bed and breakfast from 18 to 25 July 2021
- Transfer Dubrovnik Airport - accommodation - Dubrovnik Airport

at 5.30 PM: Lecture ‘The role and possibilities of performers in today’s world of music’

at 9 PM: Participation certificate award and the final concert of the participants
Accommodation
The Dubrovnik Summer Festival offer accommodation with breakfast to the participants of the master class in single, double and triple rooms the with private bathroom in the period of duration of the masterclass. Rooms are air conditioned, equipped with high-speed internet, located in a newly built student dormitory in the centre of Dubrovnik with short walk distance from the Old Town.

Note: Participants can independently arrange accommodation in Dubrovnik during the masterclass.
