Dance Monodrama “Lulu” on Saturday and Sunday at Lovrjenac
The dance-theatre-music monodrama Lulu by choreographer and director Staša Zurovac and performed by dancer Andressa Miyazato with Alexander Balanescu on violin, inspired by eponymous theatre works of Frank Wedekind, is on the 72nd Festival programme on Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August at 9.30pm on the Lovrjenac fort.
Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra String Chamber Ensemble with violinist Eva Šulić at the Rector’s Palace on Thursday
The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra String Chamber Ensemble with Eva Šulić on violin and under the baton of maestro Ivan Hut will hold a concert on Thursday 29 July, at 9.30pm in the Rector’s Palace atrium. On the programme are Dešpalj, Piazzolla and Šoštaković.
The play “Under the Same Roof” at Lazareti
The play “Under the Same Roof” is directed by Ivana Janošev, co-produced by the Kulturanova Association and the Hungarian minority Novi Sad Theatre – Újvidéki Színház, and created within the Port of Dreamers EU project. The play will be performed at the 72nd Festival on Thursday and Friday 29 and 30 July at 9.30pm at Lazareti. Tickets to both nights are sold out.
Best Croatian feature from Pula Film Festival “A Blue Flower” to be screened at the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival
In collaboration with Pula Film Festival and the Dubrovnik Cinemas, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival will be showing the award-winning feature film A Blue Flower directed by Zrinko Ogresta on Wednesday 28 July at 9.30pm, at the Jadran open-air cinema. Entrance is free but due to the limited number of seating, tickets must be picked up prior at the Festival Palace box office.

As part of the music programme of the 72nd Dubrovnik Summer Festival, last night, 25 July in the Rector’s Palace atrium one of the leading voices of her generation, young soprano Julia Lezhneva and the renowned La Voce Strumentale Ensemble led by violinist and conductor Dmitry Sinkovsky with Luca Pianca on lute performed choice repertoire of best 18th century opera composers, surpassing all expectations of the audience at this highly anticipated event.

The final concert after Petrit Çeku’s week-long guitar masterclass was held by the participants last night, 24 July, at the Bunić-Kaboga Summer Villa, with the young musicians also receiving their participation certificates.
Traditional Linđo dances delight festival crowd in front of the Cathedral
The Linđo Folklore Ensemble performed last night, 23 July, in front of the Cathedral, delighting both local and foreign audiences. Linđo will have another performance at the 72nd Festival, on 22 August, again in front of the Cathedral.
Mara and Kata are back!
Last year’s Festival hit, an original project by Saša Božić done in collaboration with Nataša Dangubić and Doris Šarić Kukuljica, the play Mara and Kata, will have an incredible eight performances at the 72nd Festival due to enormous interest. The play will be performed twice a night at Kazerma below St. Mary’s on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 26, 27 and 28 July, at 9.30pm and 11pm, then again on 7 and 8 July at 9.30pm at the same unique venue. Tickets for all performances have been sold out.

Young Russian soprano Julia Lezhneva, a leading singer of her generation, will be joined by La Voce Strumentale Ensemble led by violinist and conductor Dmitry Sinkovsky and Luca Pianca on lute for a concert in the Rector's Palace atrium on Sunday, 25 July at 9.30pm. On the evening programme is choice repertoire of best 18th century opera composers.
Magelli’s Hamlet returns gloriously to Lovrjenac
The award-winning premiere production of the anniversary 70th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Shakespeare’s Hamlet directed by the great Paolo Magelli and performed by the Festival Drama Ensemble, which is led by the brilliant Frano Mašković as the titular Danish prince, was performed last night, 21 July on the Lovrjenac fort. The already sold-out play is on the programme until 24 July.
