Standing Ovation for the Croatian Radio and Television Choir & Tomislav Fačini

Date created: 26.07.2019.

Croatian Radio and Television Choir, under the baton of their principal conductor and the Festival’s own Assistant Artistic Director for Music maestro Tomislav Fačini, gave a breath-taking performance last night, 25 July, in the Rector’s palace atrium. The evening’s programme included the most beautiful Russian Orthodox choral literature: selections from Sergey Rachmaninov’s All-Night Vigil and Three Choruses by Georgy Sviridov.

The Croatian Radio and Televison Choir’s last performed at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and the Rector’s Palace over ten years ago. Thus, their performance last evening garnered particular attention. The Choir - at their best and in an exuberant mood, with the best of acoustics in the Rector’s palace atrium – ensured an unforgettable festival evening for all concertgoers. The audiences, both foreign and local, were enchanted by the master vocal interpretations of the Choir and their exceptional soloists Monika Cerovčec, Nikolina Virgej, Mladen Klepo, Daniela Perosa, Franko Klisović, Stjepan Franetović and Miloš Gašić. The deserved thunderous applause and ovations went on for some time so the triumphant musicians performed an encore – the well-known and often performed as a standalone movement Rejoice, O Virgin from the All-Night Vigil.
