Two more performances of Linđo Folklore Ensemble at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Date created: 18.08.2015.

Linđo Folklore Ensemble will hold two more performances at the 66th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, on Tuesday, 18 August, and then again on Saturday, August 22, starting at 9.30 pm at the Revelin Fort Terrace.

Linđo Folklore Ensemble has been proudly presenting Croatian cultural heritage to the world for the last five decades. This award-winning ensemble is not just loved by the Dubrovnik local audience, but by the international audiences as well, partly because of its dance skills and energy, and partly because of the beautiful original costumes in which its young dancers perform. Ensemble celebrates its fiftieth anniversary this year, and the activities and performances at the Revelin during July and August are definitely a good prelude for the big celebration that will mark this solemn anniversary, which is planned for the end of November this year. Its repertoire for these performances consists of  Croatian folk songs and dances from Slavonia, Valpovo, Baranja and Međimurje, including Bunjevac and Šokac dances, and the inevitable Dubrovnik hopping-dance linđo, as well as the dances from Croatia’s coast and the Istrian balun dance, and three musical numbers.

Tickets are available online at www.dubrovnik-festival.hr, the sales offices in the Festival Palace, on Stradun, at the Multimedia Centre Visia and at the Culture and Information Centre in Luža, as well as at the ticket stand at the entrance, two hours before the performance.
