BADco. performed The Stranger at Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Last night, 15 August, art collective BADco. performed The Stranger project at the Revelin Fort Terrace. This was the first time that this highly esteemed Croatian collective, which deals with contemporary performing practices and has already built respectable reputation abroad, performed at Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Violinist Stephen Waarts and pianist Andrey Gugnin in Rector's Palace

New festival program entitled Key to the Future that presents young laureates of prestigious international music competitions - continues. The Festival audience is going to hear performance of American violinist Stephen Waarts and his Russian colleague, pianist Andrey Gugnin on Wednesday, 17August at 9:30 PM in the Rector's Palace Atrium.

Sophocles' Antigone 2000 Years Later

Co-produced by the Ulysses Theatre and MESS festival of Sarajevo and first performed on 15 August 2015 on the Island of Brijuni, the play Antigone - 2000 years later will be performed on Monday and Tuesday, 15 and 16 August at 9:30 PM in Komolac, on the site of a former warehouse at the Ogarići street.

Acclaimed „The Stranger“ project by BADco. on Monday at Revelin Fort

Produced by the art collective BADco. and first performed in June 2015 as part of the Perforations Festival, "The Stranger" project is going to be presented to festival audience on Monday, 15 August, starting at 9:30 PM at the Revelin Fort Terrace. This is the first time that this highly esteemed Croatian collective, which deals with contemporary performing practices and has already built respectable reputation abroad, is going to perform at Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Recommendation for the audience is to bring sunglasses at the performance because of extremely bright light in some scenes.

Young pianist Andrew Tyson returns to the Festival this year as well

New festival program entitled Key to the Future that presents young laureates of prestigious international music competitions will be opened this Sunday, 14 August at 9:30 PM in the Rector's Palace atrium with piano recital by Andrew Tyson. For the festival audience that still holds great impressions of last year Tyson’s performance, young pianist has prepared Domenico Scarlatti'sthree sonatas, Frederic Chopin's three mazurkas, Alexander Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 3, Isaac Albéniz's Iberia (book 1) and Spanish Rhapsody by Franz Liszt.

Maestro Ivo Pogorelich's piano recital in Rector's Palace Atrium

One of the greatest classical musicians of today, Ivo Pogorelich will perform at the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival on Tuesday, 9 August at 9.30 pm in the Rector's Palace Atrium. Maestro will perform Sonata in D major by Joseph Haydn, Rondo a capriccio by Ludwig van Beethoven, Debussy's Pour le piano suite and Rachmaninoff's Moments musicaux in second part of the concert.
