Charming experience in the Rector's Palace with pianist Gugnin

As a part of new festival program entitled Key to the Future that presents young laureates of prestigious international music competitions Russian pianist Andrey Gugnin held a recital last night, 22 August, in Rector’s Palace atrium. The young virtuoso was presented at last week's concert, where he, along with fellow violinist Stephen Waarts, delighted festival audience. Last night's performance was really enthusiastic experience for festival audience and it belongs to one of the best performances in the 67th Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Orlando Award winner Henshel Quartett at 67th Festival

Last year's winner of the Orlando prize for best musical achievement at the 66thDubrovnik Summer Festival, world-wide renowned Henschel Quartet, will perform at this year's festival as well, on Wednesday, 24 August at 9:00 PM at Pinachoteca of the St. Nicholas Church in Cavtat. Repertoire consists of Wofgang Amadeus Mozart's String Quartet No. 22 in B-flat, Alberto Ginastera's Quartet No.1 andBeethoven's String Quartet No.7 in F major also known as Razumovsky.

Yury Favorin for the closure of the "Key to the Future" program

The last concert of the new music program at the 67th Festival, entitled Key to the future that represents young laureates of prestigious international music competitions, will hold pianist Yury Favorin on Wednesday, 24 August at 9:30 PM in the Rector's Palace atrium. The repertoire consists of Franz Liszt's Sonata in B minor, Manuel de Falla's Fantasía Bética and Hommage à Debussy, Debussy's Préludes selection from Book 1 and 2 which includes La puerta del Vino (The Wine Gate), La danse de Puck (Puck's Dance) and Feux d'artifice (Firework) as well as Ravel's La Valse.

Great applause for Aljoša Jurinić in Rector's Palace

In the new music program on 67th Festival, entitled Key to the Future, which presents the young laureates of prestigious international music competitions; young pianist Aljoša Jurinić held a recital last night, 16 August in the Rector's Palace Atrium. The festival audience awaited this concert of a Croatian representative in this program with special impatience.

Philippe Entremont returns to the Festival

Renowned French pianist Philippe Entremont will give a piano recital on Friday, 19 August at 9:30 PM in the Rector's Palace atrium. Maestro's return to the Dubrovnik Summer Festival follows after 31 years - in 1975 was the last time he performed in front of the Festival audience in the Rector's Palace. The repertoire consists of Bach’s Partita No. 1 in B minor, Beethoven’s Sonata No. 30 in E major, Chopin's Nocturne No. 8 in D flat major and Scherzo No. 2, Debussy's Images I and Sonatine in F sharp major by Maurice Ravel.

Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra with guest soloists performs in Rector's Palace

Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra under the button of Turkish conductor Ertug Korkmaz with soloists, cellist Jelena Očić and violinist Stephen Waarts, will perform on Thursday, 18 August at 9:30 PM in the Rector's Palace atrium. The program consist of Mozart's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra no. 4 in D major, Astor Piazzolla's Le Grand Tango and the first performance of the Symphony, new composition by a Dubrovnik born composer Frano Đurović. Concert is dedicated to maestro Ivo Dražinić who deceased last year.

„Antigone – 2000 years later“ tonight at Dubrovnik Summer Festival

Co-produced by the Ulysses Theatre and MESS festival of Sarajevo the play Antigone - 2000 years later will have a second performance this evening, 16 August at 9:30 PM in Komolac, on the site of a former warehouse at the Ogarići street.
