Bruckner's "Bitter Moon" on board ship at the open sea

In coproduction of Dubrovnik Summer Festival, Croatian Writers' Society and Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb, and as a part of the Festival Features Writers project, "Bitter Moon" will be premiered in the set adaptation by Vlatka Vorkapić, on Tuesday, 28th July. Performance will be set on board ship that will leave the Gruž Port at 9.30 pm. The author himself, Pascal Bruckner will be present at the premiere.

Thana Alexa Project on Orsula this Wednesday

Young Croatian and American jazz singer Thana Alexa will perform with her band on Wednesday, July 29th at 9:30 pm at Orsula, which is a result of the first cooperation of Dubrovnik Summer Festival and Orsula Park.

Leader of Croatian contemporary music scene Cantus Ensemble at the Rectors Palace on Tuesday

The Cantus Ensemble, which began to perform at the Zagreb Music Biennale in 2001, gradually became a top quality contemporary music ensemble performing exclusively the finest and most recent international repertoire. That is the reason why the ensemble managed to retain its leading role as the most active participant on the Croatian, regional and international contemporary music scenes. So it is no surprise that they are always offered a warm welcome at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. This year, Cantus is led by a young conductor Ivan Josip Skender, who graduated at the class of maestro Uroš Lajovic.

Italian canzone and arias will be performed by Domagoj Dorotić in Rector Palace Atrium

Due to artist illness, concert of Lana Kos announced for 1st of August is cancelled. Instead, Domagoj Dorotić, accompanied by Lana Bradić on the piano, will perform in Rectors Palace Atrium at 9:30 pm with programme consisting of Italian canzone and opera arias.

Traditional performances of Linđo Folklore Ensemble on the Revelin fort terrace are beginning

Traditional performances of the Linđo Folklore Ensemble at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival will continue this year as well, with the first of the five performances being held on Saturday, 25 July at 9:30 pm on the Revelin Fort Terrace.

Exhibition of photographs by Marc Riboud

THE CONTROVERSIAL „ELEMENTARY PARTICLES“ PREMIERED

The first premiere within the Theatre Programme of the 66th Dubrovnik Summer Festival, The Elementary Particles, after the novel by the controversial Michel Houellebecq, directed by Ivica Buljan and performed by the Festival Drama Ensemble, took place last night, on 20 July, at Fort Lovrjenac. The „Particles“ will have three more shows, on 21, 22 and 23 July, beginning at 9:30.
