"The Melancholy Women of Ragusa" premiered in Gradac Park

Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra with Josipa Bilić, under the baton of Valentin Egel in front of the Cathedral

The beginning of the final week of the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival will be marked by a big concert in front of the Cathedral, which will be held on Monday, 21 August at 9:30 p.m. by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra with soprano Josipa Bilić, conducted by maestro Valentin Egel. Brilliant performance by the first-class Dutch ensemble at the 74th Festival

The opulence of early music was brought to the Rector’s Palace by the {oh!} Orkiestra led by violinist Martyna Pastuszka

One of the most significant Polish orchestras and one of the most dynamic ensembles on the European early music scene, the {oh!} Orkiestra led by virtuoso violinist Martyna Pastuszka, filled the Rector’s Palace atrium last night, 16 August, with the opulent sounds of Baroque which the Festival audience truly enjoyed.

Camerata RCO are coming to the Rector's Palace!

Camerata RCO, a mixed strings and winds ensemble of Amsterdam's renowned Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO) members, will hold a concert at the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival on Friday, 18 August in the Rector’s Palace atrium at 9:30 p.m., and perform compositions by Nino Rota and Johannes Brahms.

The Melancholy Women of Ragusa from Thursday in Gradac Park

This year's fourth and last drama premiere, Marijana Fumić’s The Melancholy Women of Ragusa, directed by Dora Ruždjak Podolski and performed by the Festival Drama Ensemble, is on the programme from Thursday, 17 August to Monday, 21 August, and will be staged in Gradac Park. On this occasion, a befitting presentation was held at the location of the play, where the director Dora Ruždjak Podolski, the author and dramaturge Marijana Fumić were joined by Director of the OTP Bank Business Center Dubrovnik and Southern Dalmatia Josipa Vodenac who spoke on behalf of the donors of the play, while the female part of the cast briefly presented their roles.

Martyna Pastuszka and {oh!} Orkiestra in the Rector's Palace on Wednesday

One of the most significant early music interpreters in Poland, the {oh!} Orkiestra led by violinist Martyna Pastuszka will be performing on Wednesday, 16 August at 9.30 p.m. in the Rector’s Palace atrium. They will introduce themselves to the Dubrovnik audience with a programme containing works inspired by the cultures Henry Purcell, François Couperin, Michel Corrette, Andreas Anton Schmelzer, and Jean-Philippe Rameau encountered and admired.

Eckart Runge, Martina Filjak and Gordan Tudor held a concert to remember

A special Festival evening of music was held last night, 12 August by the cellist Eckart Runge, pianist Martina Filjak and saxophonist b, who wowed the sizeable audience gathered in the Rector’s Palace atrium with their virtuoso performance of pieces by Ástor Piazzolla, George Gershwin, Nikolai Kapustin and Gordan Tudor.
