During almost thirty years of work experience in the field of organizing cultural events, education and finance, Marin Kaporelo (Split, 1976) has established himself as a prominent cultural organizer and promoter of musical life in Croatia. He has a number of successful initiatives and projects behind him, and in 2019 he was awarded the Order of the Croatian Day of the Dead with the image of Marko Marulić for special merits in preserving Croatian musical cultural heritage, encouraging and affirming young Croatian artists, and promoting them in the Republic of Croatia and the world. He graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Split, with a Master of Public Administration degree. He graduated cum laude from the Faculty of Media and Public Relations, University of Dubrovnik, with a Master of Public Relations degree. He began his professional career in the banking sector, becoming increasingly involved in the field of musical art. He served as president and organizational leader of the Cantores Maruli Association (2007-2016), external associate and lecturer of the course Management in Culture and Arts at the Academy of Arts, University of Split (2018/2019), coordinator of the Split Music Initiatives Platform (2019-2020), director of the Split Music Youth (2016-2020), and acting director of the Croatian House Split (2020-2023), which during his term has become a dynamic and modern concert venue hosting leading names from the Croatian and European music scene, including: Ivo Pogorelić, The King's Singers, Berlin Philharmonic Sextet, Ivan Repušić, Núria Rial, Roman Simović, Katarina Livljanić, Edin Karamazov, Martina Filjak, Renata Pokupić, Valentina Fijačko Kobić, Ivana Lazar, Edicson Ruiz, Pavao Mašić, Matej Meštrović, Pavel Steidl, Ante Jerkunica, Lovro Marušić, Aljoša Jurinić, Croatian Radio and Television Choir, Papandopulo Quartet, Ricercar Consort, Croatian Baroque Ensemble, Zagreb Soloists, Split Virtuosos, Zadar Chamber Orchestra, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and many others. In March 2023, he was elected Secretary General of the newly founded Croatian Association of Music Organizers. He is a co-author of numerous cultural and educational projects such as: the Croatian Concert Cycle (Konci.hr), the Dalmatian Cycle, the audience development project In small places, culture from places!, the Music Helps project aimed at children and young people with special needs, etc. At the same time, he is also active as a musician, member and soloist of the Brodosplit City Choir, the Cantores Maruli ensemble, which he founded, and several klapa groups, and he has been a guest at numerous festivals, reviews and competitions, winning awards (Dalmatian Klapa Omiš Festival, Guido d'Arezzo Competition, World Choral Olympics...). His commitment to the promotion and preservation of cultural intangible heritage has resulted in three authorial and co-authorial multimedia projects: Adriatic Glagolitic Prose and The Story of Marko Marulić and Meštrović's Passion, which have also been recorded as sound carriers (Verbum, 2012 and 2015). The story of Marko Marulić was awarded the Artist of My People award by the Ivan Meštrović Museums for his outstanding contribution to the preservation and promotion of Croatian cultural heritage (2012). For his contribution and cooperation with the Croatian Musical Youth, an umbrella international and national organization that connects children and young people with music and culture, he received a Certificate of Appreciation on the occasion of its 70th anniversary (2024). By decision of the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, in January 2023 he was appointed artistic director of the Osor Musical Evenings, and in September he will also take over the duties of assistant for production to the newly elected artistic director of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. He is a member of several professional and cultural associations: the Croatian Association of Music Organizers, the Croatian Musical Youth, the Croatian Musical Union, Matica Hrvatska - Dubrovnik Branch and the Croatian Association of Osor Musical Evenings.
