Ivana Đula was born in Dubrovnik in 1983. After graduating from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb, she began her Master’s studies in dramaturgy at the Zagreb Academy of Dramatic Art. Her engagements as a dramaturge and composer include theatres in Zagreb, Rijeka, Pula, Varaždin, Split, Šibenik and Ljubljana. She has received awards from the Mali Marulić Festival of Croatian Drama for Children, the ASSITEJ Festival, the PIF International Puppet Theatre Festival and the International Puppet Festival in Kragujevac. She has worked as an educator since 2002, and in 2014 she founded the ArtArea, organisation for education of children and young people in performing arts, through which she has carried out numerous workshops and projects all over Croatia. Since 2017, she has been engaged in educational activities and multimedia projects in Dubrovnik in collaboration with the Art Workshop Lazareti. She is the author of two audio installations with Luka Vrbanić, How does the City sound? and La musica di notte 2019, and as a resident artist on the Collector Dubrovnik project by the Art Workshop Lazareti, she had an exhibition of soundscapes, The Sound Collector, in the summer of 2020. She lives in Zagreb with Luka, Petar and Deša.
