The legendary Goldoni’s „La Bottega del Caffè“ which was last performed on the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in 1987, is to be premiered next year on the 29TH of July 2016 on the 67th Dubrovnik Festival in Vinko Brešan’s direction.
Director Vinko Brešan recently visited Dubrovnik viewing the venues for setting the play. Wishing to set it in the heart of the City, in cooperation with the Theatre Programme Director Mani Gotovac, he has chosen the main street Stradun for the set location of his interpretation of Goldoni's play „The Coffee Shop“ („La Bottega del Caffè“ ). “The Coffee Shop” directed by Tomislav Radić had its first premiere at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival in 1978 in translation and adaptation by Frano Čale on Gundulić square, and remained on the repertoire for ten years.
