Big names from the international music scene are coming to the 74th Dubrovnik Summer Festival stages. Among the many artists performing in Dubrovnik this summer, one of the best pianists today András Schiff stands out. He will open the music programme of the 74th Festival on 13 July in the Rector's Palace atrium.  The German-French cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, a highly sought-after and versatile musician, will meet the Dubrovnik audience on a solo recital as well as a joint performance with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Pavle Zajcev.

Marko Mimica, a star of the opera world, will offer the Festival audience an opportunity to get up close and personal with his powerful voice, flawless bel canto technique, and versatility in a programme of lieder and arias specially created for the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. He will be accompanied by Cuban pianist Marcos Madrigal. In 2018 Maxim Emelyanychev delighted the Festival crowd when he conducted a performance of Mozart's Great Mass and this summer he will perform as a pianist alongside the exceptional Russian violinist Aylen Pritchin. The award-winning guitarist Krešimir Bedek will also perform the Rector's Palace atrium, as well as the trio composed of Latica Anić, Krešimir Starčević, and Marco Graziani. The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will be joined in concert by last year's Ferdo Livadić International Competition laureate, young soprano Josipa Bilić, and conducted by maestro Valentin Egel. German cellist Eckart Runge, alongside pianist Martina Filjak and saxophonist Gordan Tudor, will showcase a repertoire strongly influenced by jazz and tango – the saxophone, cello, and piano are an unusual combination, in the hands of musicians of broad interests, inclined towards improvisation and a creative approach to music-making. A must-see in August are the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra and Hungarian violinist Kristóf Baráti, recognized worldwide as a musician of extraordinary quality with a huge expressive range and impeccable technique. Baráti is often praised for the poetry and eloquence he brings to his performances, described by some as a "true aesthete of the highest calibre." Composed of members of the renowned Amsterdam Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra (RCO), the Camerata RCO enjoys an exceptional reputation in the Netherlands and holds around fifty concerts each season in music capitals such as Amsterdam, Vienna, Tokyo, Seoul, Madrid, Rome, and New York. They will Dubrovnik to the list on 18 August in the Rector's Palace atrium.
